We are so proud of our 2017 performance. Special thanks to everyone that supported us throughout the year, especially our family and friends. While we were not able to bring the trophy back home this year, we felt like we gave one hell of a show. We hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed bringing it you.

The Officers and Members of South Philadelphia would like to offer our sincere Congratulations to the men of the Quaker City String Band for their First Prize performance of, “Winter is Coming”.
We would also like to congratulate Thomas D’Amore, Ferko String Band, on your First Place Captains Prize!
Happy New Year!!
May 14th, 1946 in the Grays Ferry kitchen of Samuel G. Hamilton the South Philadelphia String Band was born! The mission statement was simple, “A good band was one that featured good people and good musicians, having a good time.” That philosophy still holds true today as it did 70 years ago. The diverse membership is dedicated as ever to uphold the standards set forth by the great men that marched before us.
Happy Birthday to the pride of Grays Ferry!
